Yet another fangirl raving. Pity the world for having yet another one of those.

Blogging because I promised to entertain CC this morning. Yep, my purpose in life is to entertain CC in this blog. To all the innocent bystanders who are backing away slowly, just be glad you don't see what Pam and I get up to in our e-mail msgs.

So, the whole glompness/non-glompness thing has been worked out in one of the brief periods we were on AIM at the same time, and all is well on that front in my skewed corner of reality. Well, except for the fact that my aunt is now refusing to attend Thanksgiving at my mom's house becuase of me. Really shouldn't have started admitting to my family that I do avoid spending time with them. Gee, they make me miserable, show only the faintest interest in me, and they're surprised when when I tell them I don't enjoy spending time with them? What universe do they live in?

Ehhh, enough about my family. Let's talk about Firefly and the twit in the con-suite at E-con. I admit it, I love the show and I truly think it's not going to make it out of it's first season. So, since I think the poor thing is doomed, I am not happy that someone hijacked a con-suite VCR and had it playing over and over again. That's like kicking a dying man! It takes away all dignity and peace away from the dyee, because everyone turns from it and looks at the bastard who did the kicking. sighs Silly troll. You ruined your cause, and you made people despise a show I love. Must go throw myself off my chair now to deal with the sorrow of it.

So, being out of the fannish loop on LJ. I have not had this problem at all. Possibly because I am incredibly insular and timid when it comes to venturing outside my comfortable social groups. Really, as loud and peevish and odd as I am in this blog, I just don't want to talk to most people. Some it is because I just don't have any interest in what they would have to say to me, and the fact that I can't believe that they would have any interest in me.

So, spent money this weekend. Had a good afternoon with V from Bal'more talking about shows, fans, music and what have you. I now have the soundtrack from Orphen playing on my computer, and it is good. I convinced another friend to make me stuff, because sewing machines scare me and I don't really want to know how to use one. So, I now have lovely, lovely pillows and runners/cloths for some of my tables. They're in pretty blues and greens and they're beau-ti-ful!

See if I ever glomp you again! Hmph. Just cause I don't squeal like a fangirl in journal everytime you write more T/S doesn't mean I'm not squealing on the inside! sob sob sob sob All my contributions, ignored! Belittled! Cast to side! I'm gonna go toss myself off my chair now! And, dude, what happened to the linky thing at the bottom of your pitas entries?

Um. Yeah. Weird mood. Sadly, I can't blame caffeine today. Instead, I blame my family and my job. What's your excuse? Huh? Huh? Huuuuuuh?

Well, I've managed to upset my aunt now.

I'm really starting to remember why I don't like talking to my family.

WAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH

That is all.

Today, is a food day. Just because it is.

Green Rice
So, I was totally flying by the seat of my pants on this one. Got the general idea from a Whole Foods store, but wasn't bold enough to ask for the recipe from them.
a cup or more of cold cooked rice (Looove rice. Rice gooood.) - I used a mixture of brown and basmati rice.
cilantro
jalpeno pepper (DESEEDED! No ribs either! Very important!)
3 limes
cumin
salt
olive oil
cooked peas

Stick the cold rice and peas into a bowl. Wash the cilantro, chop off the stems and dump it into a Cuisanart. Toss your pepper in, and then hit the on button! Don't turn it into a paste, but get it nice and fine. Dump it into the rice and stir. Squeeze the juice from the limes over the rice and stir. Add a little olive oil, cumin and salt, stir and then taste. Does it taste good to you? If it does, then serve. If not add more of whatever strikes your fancy. Sugar can also be added if you like things a little sweet.

Eggplant with Honey and Mint

4 Oriental eggplants (I like these much better then Italian eggplants. They're smaller, easier to chop, and they just seem to cook up better.)
2 or so tbsp of honey
2 or so tbsp of red wine vinegar
handful of mint
salt, lots of salt

Chop the eggplants into rounds, and layer them on a plate. Heavily salt each layer. (You're doing this to leech the bitterness out of the eggplant.) Ignore the eggplant for umm, a while. Not less then 10 minutes, but not more then a half hour. Take the eggplant, rinse it off under running water, and gently squeeze out the liquids. (Don't worry if there's a brownish liquid on the bottom of the plate. That just means the salting worked.) Next, fry the eggplant in a skillet w/olive oil until they get mushy/squishy. (Don't worry if the olive oil disappears. It's all gone to the eggplant. These things soak up oil like mad.) Pour the honey and vinegar over the eggplant and stir it around. Let the liquids cook down for a bit, then toss the mint in. Stir for a minute more, and then serve.
